Witches Woods Lake

Tax District Documents | Boating Rules

Please remember that the State of Connecticut requires that operators of power boats be certified. Obtaining a certification involves passing a training course. This law applies to power boats used on our lake. No single hull boats larger than 18 feet or pontoon boats larger than 21 feet are permitted on the lake. The max horsepower is 70.  Also, a Witches Woods boat sticker is required for all hard sided boats on the lake. To obtain a boat sticker for your power boat, you must present a copy of your boat registration, a copy of your certification, along with a copy of your Waterskiing Endorsement. Details of the Waterskiing Endorsement requirements can be found on the home page of our web site. The stickers, which can be obtained from the Health, Fire & Safety Director, are also required on sail boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats. There is no charge for the sticker, but it must be renewed each year. The purpose of the sticker is to identify that the boat belongs on Witches Woods Lake.
